Serving as the new home of the Sacramento Kings, the Golden 1 Center is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento at the Downtown Plaza Mall. The multi- was envisioned as an iconic civic space that works 365 days a year and celebrates the best of Sacramento and all it has to offer by incorporating indoor and outdoor design elements. The building frame will consist of structural steel/braced frame construction, will seat approximately 18,000 people, and have a total gross area of approximately 674,000 square feet
MatriScope was contracted to provide special inspection and materials testing services for the project, including inspection and testing for cast-in-place concrete, shotcrete, precast concrete, concrete unit masonry, structural steel framing, NDT, spray applied fireproofing, waterproofing and roofing application. MatriScope and associated sub-consultants provided all off-site inspection and testing including laboratory testing services for all related construction materials, pre-fabricated concrete inspection, BRB, miscellaneous steel and structural steel inspection and UT testing, in various states including California, Arizona, Utah, and Illinois.
