Inspired by the grand lodge architecture of the American West, the new Village at Northstar features native stones and timber, cobblestone streets and outdoor fire pits, an eclectic variety of shops and an outdoor skating rink. An aggressive construction timeline initiated Phases 1 and 2 which were completed within the first 24 months of a planned ten year build-out. Design consisted of driven pile foundation system supporting four and five-story structural steel frame incorporating braced and moment frame connections, composite slab-on-deck with a multi-story concrete parking structure.
MatriScope was contracted to provide geotechnical engineering, pile driving, earthwork observation and testing, building department code compliance inspections, Caltrans civil and electrical inspections, special inspections and materials testing of concrete, masonry, epoxy dowels, structural steel, and fireproofing for this prestigious project.
