Washington Unified School District broke ground on the on 65-acre site which now houses the New River City High School. The 330,000 square foot project is a “state of the art” learning center incorporating educational, cultural, and recreational facilities. Site work required a two foot over-excavation and three foot lime treatment in order to mitigate highly expansive native soils. Building construction consisted of primarily structural steel framing members with some structural masonry and tilt-up concrete walls.
MatriScope provided geotechnical engineering, environmental testing, special inspection and materials testing services related to soils compaction and grading, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, structural steel, and fireproofing activities.
