The Central Plant Renovation project is a Design-Build effort by Nacht & Lewis + Skanska to upgrade the current 35,000 square foot plant (built in 1967), which provides chilled water (for cooling) and steam (for heating) to more than five million square feet. The new design called for an 80,000 square foot central plant and six million gallon thermal-energy storage tank. Skanska obtained LEED Platinum rating for this project.
MatriScope provided all special inspections and material testing services related to portland cement pervious concrete pavement, cast-in-place concrete, reinforced masonry, structural steel and buckling-restrained braces.
